About

I spent 10 years working as a counsellor with Cruse and now work with Help Counselling in Trowbridge. I am a retired teacher and found great fulfilment working with people of all ages. I provide a confidential and non-judgemental space for you to talk to a trained professional about your issues and concerns. I am compassionate, gentle and a good listener, making you feel at home and safe. I can help you find your own solutions whether that’s making effective changes or finding ways of coping with your problems. Please note, I will not give opinions or prescribe medication.

I am fully qualified with a Level 4 Diploma in Theraputic Counselling from CPCAB, Certificate in Supervision, as well as a Certificate in working with children and young people in bereavement. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) membership number: 00768996. And I am regulated by (BACP) registered number 381210.

What is my approach?

I believe everyone is individual, therefore my approach reflects this. I combine therapies depending on your situation which is known as integrative counselling. One approach I use is person-centred whereby the sessions are personalised to you and your needs. After all, you are the expert on you! I seek to hear your story in order to walk beside you in your time of need, no matter what it is that you are facing. I draw on my own emotions, and will ask questions, to help me understand your feelings, point of view and situation.

In our sessions, we will focus on you and what you want to discuss as opposed to being directed by me. This helps you to explore your own issues, feelings, beliefs, behaviours and world views so you can become self-aware and to help you trust your judgement. I like to focus on how you perceive yourself so you can have a greater understanding of yourself!

How does it work?

Get in touch to have an initial discussion to determine what’s best for you. Then we will discuss when, how and where the sessions will take place on a phone call in advance of your first session. Following this, you will have regular sessions of 1 hour to fit in with you and your lifestyle.

I am flexible with timings and can offer sessions face to face in my home, telephone or video chat sessions.
