You don't need the "right" reason to reach out
- Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck in worry, or finding it hard to relax.

- Maybe a relationship has become difficult to navigate, and you don't know where to start.
- Or maybe it's something else entirely - that's alright too.
What clients say
Compassionate, gentle, and here to listen
As a counsellor since 2009, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I provide a confidential and non-judgemental space for you to talk to a trained professional about your issues and concerns.
I am compassionate, gentle and a good listener. You will gain deeper insight into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and together we will develop practical strategies to help you move forward and live the life you deserve.
My approach is flexible and tailored to you - I don't work from a fixed script. This is what's known as integrative counselling: drawing on different therapeutic techniques depending on what you need, so you always feel heard, understood and empowered to make changes that last.
I've had my own share of difficult times, and I understand just how hard life can feel. Before training as a counsellor, I spent most of my working life in teaching, which I loved - particularly the pastoral care side of it - and I feel lucky to have worked with clients of every age since. Outside of sessions, you'll usually find me swimming, reading, or in the garden. What matters most to me is helping people feel at ease, understanding what they're going through, and finding a more comfortable way forward.
Three areas I focus on
Counselling for Anxiety & Stress in Trowbridge
If you feel overwhelmed, stuck in worry, or find it hard to switch off, you're not alone - and you don't have to manage it by yourself. Anxiety can show up as racing thoughts, tension, sleepless nights, or a constant sense of unease that follows you through the day. Sometimes it's tied to a specific situation - work, health, a big life change. Sometimes it's harder to pin down. In our sessions, we'll explore what's driving your anxiety and start building a toolbox of practical strategies to help you feel calmer and more in control, at a pace that works for you. My approach is person-centred and integrative, which means it's shaped around you, not a fixed script. I offer counselling for anxiety and stress to clients across Trowbridge and the wider Wiltshire area, in person, online or by phone.
Bereavement Counselling in Trowbridge
Grief can feel isolating, even when the people around you are trying to help. Whatever you've lost - a person, a pet, a relationship, or a version of the life you expected to have - counselling offers a space to process that loss without judgement, on your own timeline. I bring a decade's experience as a grief counsellor with Cruse Bereavement Care to this work, alongside my private practice, so this is an area I know well. We'll talk through what you're carrying, however that shows up for you, and find ways to help you move forward while still honouring what - or who - you've lost. I work with adults, teenagers and children experiencing bereavement, and offer bereavement counselling in Trowbridge and across Wiltshire, including Bath, Bradford-on-Avon, Melksham, Frome and Westbury.
Relationship Counselling in Trowbridge
Relationships take work, and even strong ones hit periods where communication breaks down or old patterns resurface. Whether you're navigating conflict, an affair or betrayal, separation, or simply want to understand each other better, talking it through with someone outside the relationship can help. I offer counselling for couples and individuals working through relationship difficulties, focusing on rebuilding honest communication - the difficult but crucial skill of really listening to each other. Sessions can happen together or individually, depending on what's most useful for you. If a relationship feels stuck, it doesn't mean it's over - it often just means it's time to talk it through with some support.
Additional Areas of Support
Beyond my three main areas of focus, I also help clients with a wider range of issues, including:
- Panic attacks & social anxiety
- Childhood bereavement
- Depression & low mood
- Work-related stress
- Trauma
- Chronic fatigue / M.E.
- Attachment difficulties
- Loneliness
- Bullying
- Career & carer support
